Patrick Ruffridge

Head of Mineral Resource Management,
Nevada Gold Mines

Patrick earned a BSc in Geology from Idaho State University in 2009 and began his mining career in Ore Control at Round Mountain Gold Corp. in Nevada, where he developed a passion for mining and the role of geology in the business. Transitioning to Resource Geology, Patrick became proficient with Vulcan and collaborated with Maptek to enhance data utilisation and workflows, which have been adopted across multiple sites.

Patrick joined Barrick Gold Corp in the Cortez District as a Resource Geologist. He modelled all deposits in the district and mentored the Open Pit Mine Geology team on the importance of geology in driving ore control to maximise value. As Open Pit Geology Superintendent, Patrick became further engaged in daily operations across the entire value chain.

A joint venture between Barrick and Newmont unlocked opportunities leading to roles as Mineral Resource Manager at Long Canyon, Phoenix and Turquoise Ridge. Currently, as Head of Mineral Resource Management for Nevada Gold Mines, Patrick oversees a team across all sites. Throughout his career, Patrick has valued diverse experiences and partnerships, and developing teams.
