John Florek

John has more than 35 years of technical and senior management experience working for major and junior mining companies, including Founder, VP and Director roles.

John holds a Master’s in Geology from Queen’s University, Ontario, and has worked for several large mining companies including BHP, Placer Dome, Barrick, Teck and Detour Gold/Kirkland Lake Gold/Agnico Eagle. He has helped identify and develop significant asset value for mines and exploration projects from grass roots through to development.

In 2022, John was awarded third place in the Maptek Geology Challenge for his innovative use of Maptek machine learning technology on a series of diamond drillholes for a high-grade gold deposit. John and his team continue to use DomainMCF and enjoy a close relationship with Maptek that allows them to capitalise on the expertise of developers, mathematicians and a specialised technical team.
