BHP
Brent holds an honours degree in Applied Geology and has amassed 25 years in the mining industry in geology roles in gold, nickel and iron ore in both surface and underground operations. Vulcan 3D modelling tools have supported Brent across drill design, grade control, mapping, stope design, implicit and resource modelling, and overall analytics.
At BHP, Brent leads a team looking after mine geology and several Western Australia Iron Ore systems, providing governance, training, support and project management. Currently as Principal for the Problematic Ore Project, he manages a group focused on Materials Handling.
During his 15 years as the Vulcan Product Owner for BHP Western Australian Iron Ore, Shaun has collaborated with Maptek to coordinate feedback from BHP teams around product performance and suggest enhancements to functionality. He has found working with Maptek to communicate operational pain points and drive improvement in the tools that make jobs easier to be enjoyable and rewarding.
