Maptek sponsored the 2014 IONS-KOALA conference held in Adelaide, South Australia in late November.
‘With the support of dedicated companies like Maptek, we were able to bring together the most outstanding international and interstate delegates, plenary speakers and industry representatives,’ said organiser Ka Wu.
‘This allowed us to present the latest scientific research in optics, photonics, laser and atomic physics.’
In addition to sponsoring the event, Maptek donated the time and equipment for two staff to attend and conduct a 3D scan of the group using the I-Site 8820 laser scanner.
IONS-KOALA is the only student conference in Australia to focus on the fields of quantum optics, atom optics, photonics and laser technology. Organised by the Optical Society student chapter, IONS-KOALA aims to prepare students for rewarding and successful careers in both research and development and the wider industry.
