The Maptek team was invited by Anglo American Platinum to exhibit at a workshop on point cloud applications in mining in Johannesburg earlier this month. The team showcased the latest I-Site products including the I-Site 8820 laser scanner, PerfectDig software and the new continuous laser scanning product, I-Site Drive.

The workshop was held as a part of Anglo American Platinum’s push for a modern, sustainable mining industry in South Africa; a philosophy its chief executive Chris Griffith outlined at Mining Indaba 2015 in February. Maptek was invited to participate as our products meet Anglo American Platinum’s vision to reduce emissions, promote safety and achieve efficiency at their sites through the use of innovative technology.

Maptek was one of 9 vendors at the event attended by 90 people, including executives from Anglo American Platinum and other key industry figures.
