Meet our people - Caroline Burden

Geotechnical Engineer, Caroline Burden joined the Europe, Middle East and Africa team just as the global pandemic began to impact lives and businesses.

It meant Caroline spent 5 months of her Maptek career working from rural Somerset in the UK.

Caroline is proud of the way Maptek adapted quickly to keep helping customers once site travel became impossible.

‘The pandemic has opened people to new ways of working and thinking. We have encouraged people to try new ideas and let the customers lead the decision-making process,’ she says.

‘Every day at Maptek is different, and because our solutions cover the whole mining process there is always something new to learn.’

Caroline looks forward to seeing what innovative solutions can be developed to help the mining process be even more efficient, as well as moving back to Edinburgh ... even though for now she will continue to work remotely like her regional colleagues and customers.
